Seraina Rüegger is the Scientific Director of the Population Research Center at the University of Zurich. She received her PhD from ETH Zurich in 2013 and holds a Master in Political Science from the University of Zurich. Before coming to UZH, Seraina worked at the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) as an expert on Ukraine. Prior to that, she was a Senior Researcher in the International Conflict Research Group at ETH Zurich. As a lecturer, she taught courses on conflict research and forced migration at ETH Zurich and at the Universities of Basel, Lucerne and Zurich.
